Therapeutic Massage
Massage is a therapeutic approach to healing that applies a
variety of strokes to the soft-tissue structure of the human
body. Some strokes are long and soothing to reduce stress
and tension held in the body. Other techniques, like deep
tissue massage, are very helpful in reducing pain and deeper
muscle tension. Massage can help the body remove toxins,
deliver nutrients to tissues and cells more efficiently,
and recover from strains and trauma more quickly.
Therapeutic massage has many physical, mental, and emotional
therapeutic benefits. It encourages well-being and optimum
functioning by improving circulation, improving the mobility
of joints and promoting relaxation.
Blood and lymph circulation are also increased due to the
mechanical hand movements applied during massage. Increased
circulation helps the body remove toxins more efficiently in
addition to helping nutrients reach their target cells in the
body.
Massage also improves range of motion in the joints as well
as overall mobility. Friction strokes are extremely effective
in breaking down adhesions, particularly following sprains,
fractures, or other injuries where scar tissue may form.
Massage promotes relaxation through the release of endorphins
and enkaphalins. These neurochemicals are dubbed "the
body's natural opiates," or painkillers, due to their
ability to induce relaxation and reduce pain. While stress
has been shown to impair the functioning of the immune system
making us more susceptible to disease, massage can alleviate
and counteract its damaging effects.
Corporate Chair Massage
Recent studies have found that up to 50 percent of workers
suffer from on-the-job stress. Stress contributes to employee
burnout, acute and chronic health problems, and poor employee
work performance. On-site chair massage has been shown to
decrease stress, improve employee morale, and increase productivity
within a company. Employees who receive on-site massage have
more energy, greater job satisfaction, and exhibit less fatigue.
In addition, employers have also found a decrease in employee
absenteeism and work-related injuries.
On-site chair massage focuses on the areas of the head, neck,
back, arms, and hands. Specific pressure points are focused
on to help alleviate areas of stress, tightness, and tension.
On-site chair massage can be performed on a massage chair or
on a portable desktop face rest.
Benefits of on-site chair massage include:
- Increased employee
productivity
- Decrease in muscle tension and stiffness
- Prevention of work-related injuries
- Improved employee and company morale
- Relief of tension-related headaches and eye strain
- Decrease in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Improved posture
